Tips for your Event

 

The following tips may be useful when you are considering hiring a marquee for your event. If you are unsure about any of the answers for these questions, please give us a call on 0870 1570 580 and we will be happy to assist.

  1. Confirm guest numbers.
  2. Decide your delivery/collection dates. Assume 15% of your invites will fail to show up.
  3. Do you need staging or a dance floor? Always keep apart from the dance floor and drinks/bar area.
  4. Are you likely to need heating? There is nothing worse than a cold marquee and unhappy guests.
  5. Consider your marquee layout.
  6. Be cautious of your table seating numbers. Cramped conditions spoil your guests' entertainment.
  7. Beware of confusion between metric and imperial measurements.
  8. Ensure there are adequate sand-buckets/ash trays for smokers to extinguish their cigarettes/cigars.
  9. Do you have adequate power availability for lighting and other electrical accessories.
  10. Does your proposed marquee site area have adequate access and ample room for erectors and contractors to work?
  11. If you are using different contractors/suppliers, stagger their arrival times to avoid confusion/overcrowding.
  12. If using caterers, do consider a separate marquee/dumping area for their sole use.
  13. Is there adequate parking for your guests?
  14. Make sure you have toilet facilities for all your guests especially the disabled and mothers with small children.
  15. Does your insurance policy cover you for damage or accidents including the equipment hire?
  16. Inform your neighbours (especially if they're not invited!)
  17. Do you need a cloakroom facility?

  19. Scatter the arrival of your guests.
  20. Offer your contractor adequate time to ensure the success of your supply thus avoiding last minute panics and disappointment.
